In short: I stole a design and articles from other websites.
That's for the short version. For me, Lush comes with a story, which begans around the beginning of october. I had my 150 visitors daily, mostly because of the Debian Sarge on Asus A6Va HowTo, but also for some other postings I've written. Not too bad for a blog that only existed one month, but proportional to the increasing visitor rates during time, the hits of this tutorial also increased. It was like that only 10% of my visitors are interested in the other stuff I've written.
I'm not a good writer, nor do I have the time to write them. In mid-december, I've started to look around for good material, translated it to german withouth referring to the originals, so that it looked like they were written by me. Then, I stumbled upon The Net is Dead. I'm sure that some of you will recognize his design. In fact, I saw it and I loved it, and, at that time, I knew I had to get it. I started to convert it to Wordpress, and on february, launched it on my own website. Exactly one week later, Marco, owner of The Net Is Dead, found my website.
Yes, I stole his complete design. Yes, I stole some of his articles. What I've done was absolutely wrong, and there is no excuse for it. I guess I wanted too much, too fast. And since the visual part of a website is always the first a user sees, I thought that a good design would be a good start.
Because I didn't had the courage, it took me about one week after I took my site down to reply on two websites, Labuschin Webdesign and of course The Net Is Dead. I've based my decision to blog again only on Marco's response, so I was glad that his answer was positive. Also, he mentioned the following:
I must honestly admit you did a great job in converting this template to WP even though it was ‘illegal’. Maybe you’d like to take a shot at porting Lush to WordPress.

So, now you can see why I had to do the porting. And, since this was my second port, I have to say that I really enjoyed doing it. I learned a lot about Wordpress theming, I became an active member of the wordpress.de forum, and I've started designing on my own. I really like the visuals of Lush, but I will never use it here. I consider it as some sort of gift to Marco.
